FAQs

WHo runs HI & HELLO STUDIO?

Hi & Hello Studio was started by Maryam Salassi of Hi & Hello Photography. Maryam built her business doing natural and relaxed in home lifestyle sessions for families in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been doing Kid Portraits for those families for years and eventually moved into a studio and decided to add more studio sessions as a way for busy families to easily book family photos without having to clean their homes or go back and forth with scheduling.

What is included?

Every session includes your Welcome Guide, access to an online Styling Service, your session time, and 10 digital files.

How long does it take to get photos?

You will receive your personalized gallery within two weeks from the day of your session.

What if I want more photos?

Your gallery includes a shop where you can purchase additional digital files, or order professional prints, albums, or wall art.

when should we arrive?

Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time slot. I don’t want anyone to feel rushed and session times are quick so give yourself plenty of time to get to the studio so we can hit the ground running when you arrive.

What is your cancellation policy?

Session retainers are non-refundable. If something comes up or someone gets sick and you can’t make your session, please reach out ASAP and we can try to reschedule you and/or fill your spot. In the event that we can’t fill the spot or reschedule within the same week, your retainer can be used towards a future session scheduled within 6 months.

What ages do you suggest for kid portraits?

Minimum? You should schedule kid portraits once your kiddo can sit on your own (usually around 6 months). Maximum? I have no maximum! Bring your inner kiddo and we can take some fun colorful photos at any age!

Where can I print my images?

Your gallery includes a shop where you can order prints, wall art (acrylic and metal prints along with framed prints), albums, and more. I offer products from professional labs whose work I guarantee. You do have the option of ordering on your own, and in those cases I can suggest Mpix.com and Artifact Uprising though I can’t guarantee their work.

How many people can we bring for family photos?

I recommend no more than 5 people because session times are short and sweet. If you have a very large family or want to do a session with extended family I suggest booking two time slots back to back.

What should we wear?

These photos are for you, and so I want you and your kids to look like yourselves. I never want anyone to be forced to wear something they don’t want to. That being said, if you really want some guidance, your session fee includes access to an online styling service as well as links in your Welcome Guide to some of my favorite shops.

For kid portraits especially, I love when kids dress themselves! These photos are meant to capture their personality at this moment in time and I suggest letting them get creative. They want to wear a tiara and do their own makeup? Go for it! They want to wear a superhero cape and tuxedo? Let’s do it! The only thing I suggest leaving at home are full face masks, for obvious reasons.
